So for those who have missed my blogs... I'M BACK!
I've decided to take a step back from my previous topic of school uniforms, and step into a new light: "food glorious food (I'm sure no one got my Oliver reference)!" So anyway, let's start with the most recent restaurant I visited.
Champions is a sports bar located in Downtown Austin, Texas, on 4th street, about a block down from the Austin Convention Center. This is like your typical sports bar: TVs everywhere, a calender of events highlighting sports events such as UFC, Ultimate Fighting Championship, and things of that nature. However, this has to be one of the most upscale, looking sports bars I've ever seen. As a huge basketball and college football fan, I've seen quite a few sports bars.
Now the food is in a league of its own. Personally, I rather eat the wings at Champions than to ever set foot in Hooter's again. Big statement, I know. But, I didn't have the wings. I had their California Burger with bacon. MM MM MM! It had pepper jack cheese, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, tomato, and then I added bacon?! MAD MAN! It was the best burger that I've had in downtown Austin. Another great thing about their burgers and sandwiches is that they come with French fries! Take that, Hooter's!
Now what's a sports bar without alcohol, huh? Champions happy hour includes $4 house margaritas (my favorite), $2.50 beers and $2.50 well drinks. Their happy hour is Monday through Friday from 4pm to 7pm and all day on Sundays.Sounds like a winner to me!
If you live in Austin, Texas, and haven't been to Champions, shame on you! If you're going to travel to Austin, Texas, in the near future, I suggest you make a trip to Champions!
